Learning outcomes:

After completing the degree, the graduate is able:

  1. To understand and analyse organisational innovation and logistics, the role of supply chains, risk and innovation management in theory and the contemporary global business environment.
  2. To manage, plan and design innovation, logistics, supply chain management and digital transformation processes across projects, organisations, industries and ecosystems.
  3. To apply professional knowledge in innovation and logistics, analytical skills and problem-solving techniques to identify and solve complex managerial challenges in projects and organisations operating in global markets and make rational decisions.
  4. To evaluate, design and manage internal and external knowledge flows in logistics and innovation in organisations and innovation strategy portfolio based on open, collaborative innovation and sustainability principles and provide recommendations for companies.
  5. To evaluate and optimise logistics value systems with smart intelligence powered by an innovative entrepreneurial mindset, practical tools and solid academic knowledge.
  6. To apply experiential learning and the challenge-based approach for problem-solving in innovation and logistics from micro companies to ecosystems and global network perspective.
  7. To build and manage professional networks with colleagues, peers, industrial experts, and companies and communicate, collaborate, and lead multicultural projects and teams.
  8. To apply the logic of scientific arguments and evidence building both in scientific debates and written reports and in using knowledge in practice.

Content:

The degree is called Master of Science in Technology (M.Sc. Tech.), Diplomi-insinööri (DI) in Finnish:

  • A higher university degree, giving the students eligibility to apply for scientific doctoral studies
  • A total of 120 ECTS credits. In addition, some complementary studies may required to be completed depending on student's education background (e.g. technical mathematics course for the students without former education in technology)
  • Duration two years, full-time studies of 60 ECTS credits per academic year

Graduates of the Master's Programme in Innovation and Logistics (min. 120 ECTS cr) will have a solid theoretical foundation, quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, practical problem-solving techniques, and the ability to identify, assess and solve complex challenges in today's networked business world.
