Learning outcomes:

After completing the degree, the graduate:

1. Understands entrepreneurship as a phenomenon, and recognizes and can utilize possibilities

· Understands the theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship and recognizes the key research directions in the field of entrepreneurship

· Understands various interests set towards entrepreneurship in a society and different means to promote entrepreneurship

· Can work in an entrepreneurial, courageous and experimental manner in various positions e.g. as a business unit manager or in promoting entrepreneurship

· Can evaluate and reflect his/her learning, identify his/her opportunities and challenges as an entrepreneur/ employee, and systematically search ways to develop himself or herself

2. Can create new and develop existing business

· Finds, identifies and utilizes different business opportunities and can estimate the feasibility of the business idea

· Can develop the business idea towards business start-ups and utilize the latest knowledge and know-how of the university in this process

· Can network and form multi-faceted start-up teams

· Understands the role of ownership and ownership competence as key elements of entrepreneurship and knows possibilities of the owner to guide the company and his/her own ownership in the direction s/he wants

· Can analyze the success of the business from different perspectives, and lead, evaluate and develop the company, its operations, and the various phases of growth

· Can analyze the business environment of the company and the roles of key stakeholders, and understands their impact on business and its development


Content:

The Master’s program in Entrepreneurship (120 credits) leads to the degree of Master of Science in Technology. The program focuses widely on the various phenomena of entrepreneurship. The purpose of the program is to familiarize students with the entrepreneurship and the creation, development and the growth of the company.

The degree enables working, for example, as an entrepreneur, as a business unit manager, or in other positions promoting entrepreneurship, for example as a business advisor or in various tasks relating to corporate funding. Employers also value entrepreneurial mindset regardless of the specific task.
