Facts

  • This BSc is taught in English.
  • This is a Tekniikan kandidaatti (TkK), Bachelor of Science in Technology (B.Sc. Tech.) degree amounting to 180 ECTS.
  • A lower university degree gives eligibility to apply for Master's studies.
  • Contact teaching, the BSc education is arranged so that full-time students can complete the degree in three academic years.

Degree Structure

The BSc in technology 180 ECTS consists of

  • common obligatory general studies including introductory course as well as courses in mathematics, physics, engineering design, mechanics, control systems, programming and electricity.
  • language and communication studies of Chinese, Finnish and English.
  • intermediate specialisation studies of electrical engineering including courses in power systems, electrical drives, electrical circuits, digital design, digital control, IoT and electronics. The specialisation studies include a Bachelor's thesis and seminar totalling 12 ECTS.
  • minor min. of 20 ECTS in Energy Economics; Sustainability Science; Practical Engineering, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Chinese Business, Culture and Technology; Study Finnish - Live and Work in Finland.

  • elective studies.

This is a double degree programme, and the graduates will receive a degree certificate from two universities, Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) and Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT), after they have fulfilled the degree requirements of both universities. Non-Chinese speaking students must pass HSK level III language test to receive a degree from HEBUT. The HSK test is China's official language test for non-native speakers of Chinese.
