Degree: Mechanical Engineering (KoDMecEng_EM)
Period: 2021-2022

Learning outcomes:

After the completion of the Master's Programme in Mechanical Engineering a student will learn to understand the applications of mechanical engineering in different specialisation areas and combine them to form multidisciplinary knowledge, skills and competences.

A student will also learn about environmentally conscious design, material selection and production together with the development of new technologies to solve current and future global problems. During the studies, a student will be able to apply different types of simulation tools to analyse demanding machine and production systems and materials behaviour. This expertise can be applied to the most demanding research and development processes of the global industry.

A student will:

- be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering, utilization of various types of simulation tools and multidisciplinary product and production development processes

- have adopted the principles of applying theoretical methods into practice using virtual tools and into building integrated computer aided features for to handle several types of engineering problems

- have ability to design and implement control systems for different types of applications in mechanical engineering

- be able to work with others in task-orientated groups participating and interacting in the group in a productive manner and lead and manage design or production projects

- be able to logically think through industrial research and development problems and solve them, to contribute to innovative thinking

- be able to understand the needs and special features of other disciplines out of core competence in mechanical engineering

- have adopted basic knowledge to continue towards doctoral studies

After the completion of the Master's Programme in Mechanical Engineering a student will acquire extensive knowledge of two selected specialization areas according to his choice. These areas are Welding Production and Metallurgy, Composites and hybrid materials, Industrial Design Engineering, Steel Structures, Laser Processing and Additive Manufacturing, Robotics and Mechatronics, Sustainable Manufacturing Processes and Digital Engineering.
