Learning outcomes:

This programme is taught in Finnish.

After the completion of the Bachelor's Programme in Computational Engineering the graduate

  • knows the basic concepts and key methods of the field
  • has comprehensive mathematics and natural science knowledge and basic knowledge of information technology
  • masters the basics of mathematical modeling
  • is able to use computing tools
  • understands the principles of statistical data analysis and is able to draw conclusions based on the results
  • understands the importance of computational methods in handling big data and in implementation of computer-based solutions
  • is able to describe and solve problems algorithmically and implement them in practice
  • is able to choose and apply computational methods in data analytics
  • understands the basic concepts of artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • is able to work independently and in working groups and in projects responsible
  • be able to communicate in writing and orally in English
  • knows the basics of scientific work
  • has a solid foundation for further education and continuous learning
