Learning outcomes:

After completion of the M.Sc. programme in Energy Conversion, the graduate

· Can analyse, design and select energy conversion processes for different applications, taking technological, economical, environmental and societal aspects into account.
· Is able to apply and develop mathematical models to solve energy technological problems,.
· Can manage and organize both national and international projects.
· Is able to design energy technology related equipment, plants, processes and systems.
· Is able to communicate and act in academic and research environments.
· Can work as specialist in energy technology.

• This is a Master of Science in Technology (M.Sc. Tech.), (Diplomi-insinööri in Finnish) degree
• Higher university degree gives eligibility to apply for scientific doctoral studies
• Two degree certificates will be awarded: M.Sc. Tech./Diplomi-insinööri of 120 ECTS from Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology and M.Sc. Tech./Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria of 150 ECTS from Il Politecnico di Milano.

Degree Structure

Master's Programme in Energy Conversion is arranged as a double degree programme. It includes courses from the following partner universities:
- Il Politecnico di Milano (Polimi), Italy
- Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT), Finland.

The M.Sc. (120 ECTS) consists of core and specialisation studies, and the specialisation studies include a Master's thesis of 30 ECTS. Elective studies are not obligatory, but allowed.

In addition to the 120 ECTS in the Master's degree (diplomi-insinööri), double degree students are required to study complementary studies of 30 ECTS, as the extent of the M.Sc. degree (Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria) at Il Politecnico di Milano is 150 ECTS.
